But another close-season means another hefty pile of rumours to sift through, and Fabregas was near the top almost as soon as the La Ligacampaign came to an end.
The Spanish international’s future at Barcelona has been in question so often there must besomethingto the stories. And following reports that the Catalan club are willing to cash-in on the player this summer, United found themselves back in the headlines, if only temporarily.
It has since been reported that Louis van Gaal has no interest in Fabregas, leaving Arsenal as the clear favourites from the Premier Leagueif they wish to bring their former player back to the club.
There has always been a clear and unbreakable bond between Fabregas and the Gunnersfaithful, and if he does return to North London, it would be a huge coup for Wenger.
