SUNDAY TONIC: Why Do Most Nigerians Respect Their Pastors More Than God?

In Nigeria today, the most effective way to control the minds of the people is basically through religion. In fact, religion, whether it be Christianity or Islam, has a way of affecting the psyche and ways of thoughts of many people. Unfortunately, most people seem to respect their religious leaders above y.God Almighty It is not out of place to hear statements like‘My Pastor said this, My Imam said this is how we should do things,’ or‘The God of so and so pastor will bless you.’ All these negates the fact that it is only God that should have such adulations. In the spirit of today being Sunday, we ask: why do most Nigerians tend to respect their religious leaders more than God?
